Return to Disney

We had such a fun time with the kids in Disneyland our first go round in the spring of 2010 that we decided to juggle our travel plans and make a return in November.  Our haste was due to our awareness that Kenzie's "Princess phase" should not be taken for granted, and we really wanted to get back before the kids were too cool to be excited about meeting the Disney characters, and in Kenzie's case, dress up in her Princess gowns!

This time around brought some favorite repeat memories and a whole bunch of new ones.  They both still loved breakfast with Minnie and friends, Toon Town, It's a Small World, and of course the fireworks.  They also loved experiencing new rides, like Space Mountain and the new Toy Story ride, as well as seeing Disney's World of Color water light show.

On our last full day, it poured rain.  While we initially were disappointed, we turned it into one of our favorite Disney memories, as we went to a movie in Downtown Disney in the afternoon, and then bought ponchos and went back into the park in the rain, turning the foul weather into a fun family adventure.  Our highlight was when Kenzie finally found a cool guy running the Grizzly River Run river rafting ride.  After having been rejected twice earlier on the trip for being too short (like a centimeter too short), the cool guy let her hair count toward her height... she literally made it by a hair!  The kids laughed hysterically went they got completely drenched on the ride.  Afterward, we bought them both t-shirts that said "Dry is NOT an option!", which became the theme for the rest of the night!

Just a fun 5 days together as a family.  We cherish these vacations... can't wait for the next one:)

Soaked on Splash Mountain!

Breakfast with Minnie was tasty as ever

Kenzie was quite pleased to see that Vidia was as sassy in real life as she is in the  Tinkerbell books!

Jackson and Goofy in Toon Town

The kids LOVED being able to ride in their own cars on some of the rides, like Gadget's Go Coasters in Toon Town

Disney was all decked out for Christmas, including snow on Sleeping Beauty's castle!
